Saturday night, I had the chance to join my lovely wife, Wendi Warren, the founder of this blog, for a wonderful evening at The Village Network's Sweet Jubilation at the Shisler Center on the Wooster campus of Ohio State University. Never having seen Sweet Jubilation up close and personal, I always thought of it as a black-tie affair to raise money for the nonprofit organization. The entire evening was a fun time, except for one moment (but, we'll return to this later). We walked in and … [Read more...]
Isabella’s Reign as Princess Finally Begins
When my niece, Ashley, asked me if I would want to be with her during the delivery of her third child, I was like "Yes! I was going to ask you if I could come." Now don't think me weird, but since I have never given birth, I thought it would be cool to see this miracle happen. She asked me in the fourth or fifth month of what turned out to be a almost full term pregnancy. That meant for a good four months Ashley and I could have talked about what would be helpful for her in the delivery … [Read more...]
Establishing Strong Family Roots with the ‘Greats’
When my sister, Sonni's, kids were children, my husband, Bobby, and I lived over three hours away from them. That meant we didn't get many opportunities to see them, let alone be a part of their lives. (The same is true about Bobby's sister's kids, only they were in Massachusetts, much farther away.) While her move might be … [Read more...]
Festivities for Friends’ Furry Feline’s First Birthday

One thing we've never done until this weekend, was attend a birthday party for a cat. Our friends, Jessica and Thomas, invited us to a first birthday party for their yellow and white tabby cat, Benjamin, otherwise known as Benny. While some people might think that silly, we are pet people. Plus I am a grade a cat person, so if a feline is the guest of honor for a shindig … [Read more...]
Are You Ready for Some Super Bowl … Food?
So, as I am writing this, I am sitting in my sister's dining room during the last few minutes of the third quarter of Super Bowl 51. Right now, the New England Patriots, who were favored to win, are actually behind the Atlanta Falcons. If you know anything about me, you know I can get really stressed out when watching a football game when I care how it ends. Since Bobby, my husband, is from Massachusetts, he is a huge fan of the Patriots. I am a fan through marriage. So I am stressed right … [Read more...]
