As long as Bobby and I have been married, we have heard the importance of making our relationship the most important human relationship we have. The only other relationship that should be held higher than each other, is the one with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To that end, we have strived to make time for one another and especially to go on dates, either on our own or with other couples. By doing so, we have gotten out of our normal, everyday life and away from things that would … [Read more...]
Texas Roadhouse: A Family Favorite for Decades
While I can’t remember the exact date, I remember the first time I ever went to a Texas Roadhouse. I was going to college in Cincinnati and staying over the summer to work on campus. I already started the tradition of celebrating my birthday for a week, so on that year I decided one of the things I would do was try Texas Roadhouse. I had seen billboard signs for the restaurant on Interstate 75 and had been intrigued. I was going through my country stage. This was when I would listen to country … [Read more...]
Digsby’s Keeps Tastes of When in Rome Restaurant Alive
You know a restaurant is going to be good when as soon as you walk in you start to salivate -- or be reminded of a great restaurant you visited in the past. That was the case for my husband, Bobby, and me on Saturday, December 16, 2017. We had just come from a magic show Bobby performed in Barberton (yes, he is a real, live magician you can check out his website here). Bobby never eats before a show and, therefore, neither do I. By the time we were heading back to Wooster, we were pretty … [Read more...]
Entering the Tiny World of Gulliver’s Gate in Times Square
When I was a senior in high school I took a college prep English class. One of the assignments in the class was to write a term paper about any author. I chose Jonathan Swift. He wrote Gulliver's Travels. I don't know that I ever read the actual book, but I was fascinated by the idea of Lilliput, the country in Gulliver's Travels of the tiny people. I guess I'm not the only one, because while I was in New York City with my husband, Bobby, sister, Randi and brother-in-law, Shaun this summer, we … [Read more...]
Luigi’s: Iconic Akron Eatery Worth the Trip (and the Wait)
I don't remember the first time I had pizza. Being a child of the 70's, I am sure it was probably a Chef Boyardee box mix. I also grew up with D'Antonio's pizza in Lodi. Which if you ask me, is the best, but I can't tell you when I had my first pizza from there. But my dad, Bud, can tell you the exact year and place where he had pizza for the very first time. It was at Luigi's Pizza in Akron, Ohio in 1956. This year, for my husband Bobby's birthday, he wanted to go to Luigi's with my parents, so … [Read more...]
