I had planned to go to the Wooster Chamber of Commerce After Hours event at the AAA office on Tuesday, October 20. However, after having a really late Monday night that ran into the wee hours of Tuesday morning and then not much sleep before work, I was having second thoughts. Yet because I had RSVP'd for the event, I felt obligated to attend. (Just call me Ms.. Dependability.) I'm glad I did. The staff of the AAA office put on a great spread of appetizers and dessert from Long Horn … [Read more...]

Wendi’s Top Tips for Air Travel
I like to travel and see new things, thus the reason for starting my blog. However, flying is not one of my favorite ways to get somewhere. I do it because it is convenient, not because I like it. Photo Courtesy of Martijn van Exel. It isn't that I'm afraid to fly. I'm not. I am truly amazed that I can travel to Boston, MA or St. Louis, MO in under two hours. The Wright Brothers (the guys who "invented" flying machines) would be, too. It is that I get motion sick. Taking off is bad. … [Read more...]
Owney Gives a Shout Out to Country Corner Animal Clinic
Since my mom, Wendi, has been laid up for a a couple of weeks, I decided to write about my trip to the Country Corner Animal Clinic. When Mom and I went out for a walk, I thought eating grass would help. It didn't. All I wanted to do was lay around. Mom noticed on Tuesday, October 6, that I wasn't … [Read more...]
Lessons Learned from Downton Abbey
I have recently been recuperating from a gall bladder surgery. That meant many hours at home, with no gumption to do anything but sit. Thank goodness for Downton Abbey. I had never watched Downton Abbey before. I had heard about it and knew of its popularity, but until September I had not seen one episode. Well, that has all changed. Armed with an Amazon Prime membership and an Amazon Fire Stick (not to mention two Amazon Kindles) I could watch all the episodes from all five seasons on my … [Read more...]
What I Learned About Vince Gill at Wayne County Fair
I really enjoy country music. That wasn't always the case. I began listening to country music in the early 1990's at the encouragement of my friends, Steve and Patti Christman. That's where I fell in love with the steel guitars, fiddles and cowboys. Among others, like Travis Tritt and Tracy Bird, Vince Gill was one of my favorites. I loved that he could convice me in one song of his deep emotions and in another of his sense of humor. Back then, I never would have imagined that I'd … [Read more...]
