Today is Thanksgiving 2016. I am so thankful for many things in my life, but Bobby Warren tops the list. On this weekend 22 years ago he asked me to marry him. (We met at Cincinnati Bible College and Seminary.)
The exact day was Sunday night after we had both returned to Cincinnati after going to our respective families to celebrate the holiday and let them know that we had found each other. We had already decided to get married in the following March, but as I told my family, nothing was official until I had a ring on my finger. Little did I know that Bobby was working on that very thing! When he showed up at my apartment on the Sunday and “popped the question” with a ring in hand, I was very surprised.
So here we are 22 years later and I am so amazed by how much he still loves me. There is never a day that goes by that he doesn’t tell me. There is hardly a day that passes in which he doesn’t tell me how beautiful I am. I am truly living the happily ever after that the fairy tales talked about!
When I was young and wishing for a husband, my mom, Dolores, would tell me, “God is preparing that special person for you, Wendi.” I would complain and say I was ready right then. Boy, am I so glad she was right. Because at just the right time, Bobby Warren entered my life and I will never be the same.
So on this Thanksgiving day, I pray that you have a wonderful day and many things for which to be thankful. I know I do and am full of gratitude because of it!
