Have you ever been driving somewhere and see sign about a place of interest that's intriguing to you? Have you wanted to stop and visit the place but you weren't able to because of other commitments or scheduling conflicts? Has there ever been a time when you could actually take the short detour and visit that site? Well, Bobby, my husband, and I recently were able to do just such a thing. We were traveling back from our visit in Indiana where Bobby performed magic. I was driving, and we … [Read more...]
Oh, Mercy! Mercy Street Season 2 Begins Sunday
When I was a kid I always looked forward to fall, not just for the cooler weather, but also because of the new TV shows and new seasons of my favorite TV shows starting again. Thankfully for me, an avid couch potato, I don't have to wait to get my fix of new episodes until fall for some of my favorites. Now new seasons start in January, too. A show that is beginning again that I am so excited for is Mercy Street. It is a PBS historical medical drama that is set in Alexandria, Virginia during the … [Read more...]
End of Summer Reflections
Today, September 6, might be considered the unofficial end of Summer 2016 -- or beginning of Fall depending on if you think of Labor day as the end of Summer. Phew! A Pleasant (and Filling) Evening in Richmond, Virginia
This should be the final installment of our Richmond, Virginia trip (but Bobby informs me it won't be, because we did stop in Charlottesville, VA on the way home). For those of you just joining us, my husband, Bobby and I took a whirlwind road trip to Richmond so that we could visit the set of Mercy Street, a PBS/Lone Wolf Media medical drama that centers around the Civil War. Bobby was interviewing Dr. Tony Tizzano for The Daily Record. I went just to cross it off of my bucket list. The … [Read more...]
Sine: “This is It!” A Great Irish Pub in Richmond, Va.
As I shared in a previous post, my husband, Bobby and I made a speedy trip (relatively speedy) to Richmond, Virginia. Because of his job with the Daily Record in Wooster, Ohio and his connection with Dr. Tony Tizzano, of The Cleveland Clinic Wooster, we were able to visit the set of the PBS/Lone Wolf Media original series, Mercy Street, a civil war-era medical drama. While we were in town, we stayed at the Residence Inn in Downtown Richmond, which fortunately is within walking distance of … [Read more...]
