Wendi and I recently joined Jon and Linda Hall (of Walking Ohio with Jon and Linda Hall fame) on a trip to Cleveland where we spent the day at the Cleveland Museum of Art and part of the night in Little Italy, where we ate dinner at Mama Santa's Restaurant and Pizzeria. We settled on the restaurant thanks to a Facebook group to which I belong. The group caters to foodies in Northeast Ohio. I was looking for a nice, traditional Neapolitan pizza. (Truth be told, I am always looking for a … [Read more...]
Sweet Moses in Cleveland is, Well, Sweet
I heard of Sweet Moses around Christmas 2017. Due to the fact that I had transferred to Human Resources Department at The Village Network, I had the privilege of sharing the gift from one of our vendors. That gift was a box of Sweet Moses chocolates. The candy was amazing, but because I had never heard of the brand before, I had to investigate. Turns out that the chocolates come from Sweet Moses Soda Fountain and Treat Shop! I was super excited to find this out. Ever since we went to … [Read more...]
Firenza Pizza proves to be a wonderful surprise
Anyone who has read this blog for any length of time should know by now I love pizza, and the pizzas Wendi and I had at Firenza Pizza in Sandusky proved to be a wonderful surprise. The Village Point Parlor Worth a Trip to Hayesville

Hayesville is a small village just a few miles off of US Route 30. It looked like a place I'd like to visit, but honestly, though, I never heard of Hayesville... and my husband, Bobby, and I travel that stretch of highway a lot. It is funny the things you miss along the way to somewhere else. So when Jan and I made plans to meet up to … [Read more...]
Flamingo Jack’s Offers Unexpected Twists
My friend and co-worker, Evan Bahler, had told me about a visit he made to a restaurant downtown Wooster, Ohio, called Flamingo Jack's. He said he had gotten one of the best burger he had ever had there. I'm a big burger person. So when another coworker and friend, Stephanie Feltmeyer, was selecting a place to go for lunch with the our department for her birthday, Flamingo Jack's came up again. I agreed with Stephanie, that it would be a good place to go for lunch, especially because only Evan … [Read more...]
