The date was Saturday, February 13, 2016. The event was the Medina Ice Festival. The temperature was 16 degrees, with a real feel of 8 degrees. The weather was snowy, not blizzard conditions, but it was coming down pretty good. That is when Bobby, my husband, and I found Chill, an Artisan Ice Cream Company on the square in downtown Medina, Ohio. I do not subscribe to the idea that it can be "too cold" for ice cream. Actually I don't even believe that you can be "too full" for ice cream. … [Read more...]
It Might Have Been Quicker Flying to Germany for German Food
My dad, Warren (Bud) Breese, is mostly the kind of man that goes with the flow of things. When asked what he wants for Christmas or Father's Day, he usually says, "world peace." I know, he doesn't ask for a lot--so we usually give him a trivia game or book or take him to the movies. But the point is, when he asks specifically for something, it is a rare occasion. Canton’s Table 6 Kitchen + Bar = 10
Wendi and I headed to the Canton area for the day. I thought Table 6 must … [Read more...]
The Guide to the Universe (If Wayne County is Your Universe)
My husband, Bobby, and I had the opportunity to do a little more exploring of downtown Wooster last Friday, January 29, 2016. I'll be writing about that in another post. However, before we embarked, we enjoyed sharing a meal with the Executive Director of the Wayne County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Marty Starkey, at Broken Rocks Cafe. Lunch was very good. Our intention, or maybe I should say Bobby's intention, was to get Marty's advice on my blog. Because it's about visiting … [Read more...]
Where a Kid Can Be a Kid (and Grownups, too)
This past week, my great nephew, Noah, celebrated his birthday. On Saturday, January 23, 2015, my husband, Bobby, my parents, Bud and Dolores and I traveled to Columbus, Ohio to see him. We met Noah, DeAveon (his older brother) and his mom, Ashley at Chuck E. Cheese's in Dublin. Back in August we celebrated DeAveon's birthday at Magic Mountain. We decided Chuck E. Cheese's was better to do in January. Since Magic Mountain has outdoor activities that are closed in the winter, the boys … [Read more...]
