On Aug. 4, Wendi took me out for a dinner experience at The Melting Pot in Legacy Village. We had a wonderful time (you can read about it here). We didn't want to eat dessert there because we wanted to try a local joint. We asked friends on Facebook where we should go, and Dani Savage enthusiastically recommended East Coast Frozen Custard, as did Sandy Whittlesey. So, East Coast Frozen Custard it was. When Wendi and I got to the place, we kind of stepped to the back to check out … [Read more...]
My Italian Husband likes this ‘Basil’ Restaurant
I have a confession to make. I am not a big Asian food fan. I like Chinese food, but I am pretty sure what I enjoy is its American-ized version. However, I don't really care for Thai or sushi or anything like that. When my husband Bobby told me that Basil, an Asian Bistro was coming to Wooster, it wasn't like I was jumping up and down to visit it. It has been open for four months and we finally did go. We met our friend, Greg Long, for lunch on Friday, September 30. When I walked into … [Read more...]
Downtown Wooster Transforming into Foodie Destination
Wendi and I had a chance to visit two new downtown Wooster eateries on Friday: One an Asian-fusion restaurant, and the other an artisan ice cream and sorbet company. None other than Cowhaus Creamery, which … [Read more...]

After exhausting ourselves at the beach and working up an appetite, we needed to find some kind of eatery. Geneva On The Lake, which is a short drive from the state park, has no shortage of options to … [Read more...]

We probably have all been told at least once in our lives to stop playing with our food. I think parents get this phrase passed down from generation to generation. However, the old adage does not apply when your food becomes part of the entertainment. This would be the case if you visit Osaka Asian Restaurant. My husband, Bobby, and I went to the restaurant one Sunday after church this past summer. We met my sister, Randi, and her husband, Shaun there. We were joined by another family of … [Read more...]
