When Wendi and I were students at what is now Cincinnati Christian University, one of the places we enjoyed going to grab a bite to eat was Penn Station East Coast Subs. We lived in Cincinnati in the early 1990s, and at the time, Penn Station made all their subs on a grill. They were known for their steak-and-cheese subs, fresh-cut fries and fresh-squeezed lemonade. A number of years ago, we stopped in to get a steak-and-cheese sub at the Penn Station in Fairlawn, and I noticed something … [Read more...]
Wally Waffle Weally Wonderful
Summer is right around the corner, and it is already building up to be a busy one, primarily because Wendi's birthday is in June, and we went crazy this year. We did a lot of fun things (which you can read about here and here and here and here). One place we ended up was Wally Waffle in Akron. Little did we know we would arrive during some kind of Summit County stage festival, which meant we could not park by the restaurant. Instead, we had to go find a place to park on some side … [Read more...]
A Step Back in Time at Historic Berry’s Restaurant
Between the Clap Out from fifth grade for my great nephew, DeAveon and the VIP Charity Event at Cedar Point Shores Water Park, my husband, Bobby, and I took a detour into Norwalk. We wanted to eat at the historic, Berry's Restaurant. Because I was driving, Bobby was doing the searching for places to eat on our way to Cedar Point. Wendi’s Blog: A Summer Preview

Michael Sonata: You’ll Swear He is Ol’ Blue Eyes Himself
When I happened upon the Boomer magazine in the entryway of Akron General Hospital in May, I had no idea what I stumbled upon. The magazine is geared to the Boomers in North East Ohio. (Boomers, in case you don't know, is a defined age group of people born between 1947 and 1962 -- or so.) I am not a boomer, but my husband is! I found the magazine interesting and informative. It also led me to discover a place called The Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland, … [Read more...]
