Let me suggest to you when you go on a 21-day cleanse/detox, that you stay away from Facebook's "Tasty" videos. In case you don't know what that is, they are videos that show different recipes. (I really love watching them!) But to watch one on a "pizza cake" in the middle of a detox, let's just say that isn't the smartest thing to do. I can't remember if Bobby saw it first or if I did, but we both agreed that when we came off of the 21 days, we would have to make it. He even ordered a … [Read more...]
Not Another Pizza Post! Sì, Scusa.
Regular visitors to the blog might recall Wendi, my wife and founder of this blog, took me to 3 Palms Pizzeria & Bakery (read about it here) in Hudson, Ohio, for my birthday. At the restaurant, I was treated to a wonderful Neapolitan-style pizza, much like the kind I grew up eating in the Boston area. The pizza was so good, it inspired me to make my own. Now, Wendi and I are no strangers to making pizza at home. If I were a betting man, I would say we make pizza more often than we … [Read more...]
A Taste of the Homeland
Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good, which is exactly what I think happened on Wednesday, December 7. That day was my husband's birthday. I happened to find 3 Palms Pizzeria & Bakery in Hudson and took him there for lunch. Bobby is a third-generation Italian in this country, and he values his heritage highly. He also loves a good pizza, with a particular affection for authentic Neapolitan pizza. 3 Palms Pizzeria provided the perfect pie to celebrate his birthday. As soon as … [Read more...]
Take a Trip Around Manhattan With Me (No Tips Necessary)
My wife Wendi's blog has built a reputation on three things (in my humble opinion): Packing a lot of fun things to do in a short amount of time (Wendi's Weekend Trips); writing about neat places to eat (&); whatever captures her fancy (Whatnot). While the blog has only been around for a year, the concept dates back a number of years. Even before we lived on the outskirts of the Amish Heartland, we took weekend trips there. When we would visit my family in Boston, we would take one and … [Read more...]
Marie’s: Serves up a Tasty Pizza Pie
I have been to Marie's in Wadsworth once or twice, but my husband, Bobby, never has. He has heard from several people that it is a good restaurant, but things never worked out for him to try it. That changed on Sunday, July 3, 2016, when we went on our impromptu date, which you can read about here. Even though we had just got done eating dessert at Subzero Ice Cream and Yogurt, that did not stop us from being enticed to order an appetizer before our pizza. The picture and description of … [Read more...]
