When I came to live at my forever home with Mom (Wendi) and Dad (Bobby), the house was filled with cats. Now as a dog, that might not seem like an ideal location to call home. There has been, and probably always will be, this sort of love/hate relationship dogs have with cats. It's in our DNA. But honestly, I didn't mind. I find barking at and chasing cats to be an invigorating part of my life. I love it when they run, it brings out the terrier in me. One of the cats that lives here, Mr. Thomas, … [Read more...]
Owney: How I Celebrated Birthday No. 7 This Year
The other day was my 7th birthday. I only know this because my mom, Wendi (the creator of this blog) told me. I'm like my dad, Bobby. I don't keep track of such things because Mom is always around to tell us how old we are. Sometimes she has to count down from the year we came to the house. (She always does this with Gracie and Buddy, two of my feline siblings. I think it is because they are so old -- 17 years old this year.) So, anyhow, Mom tells me it is my birthday but then I hear her tell … [Read more...]
Festivities for Friends’ Furry Feline’s First Birthday
My husband, Bobby, and I do a lot of different things on our time off from work. I hope this blog is evidence of this fact. One thing we've never done until this weekend, was attend a birthday party for a cat. While some people might think that silly, we are pet people. Plus I am a grade a cat person, so if a feline is the guest of honor for a shindig … [Read more...]
Remembering My Cousin, Crazy Parker
If you read my mom's blog post about the Hard Hat Restaurant, you will know that one of my border collie cousins, Parker, had some health problems recently. Unfortunately, I found out that Parker lost his fight with the illness early Sunday morning. We are all sad to have to say goodbye to him, but he lived a great life. As a late comer into his life, I don't know everything about him, but here are a few things I do know: He loved to play fetch -- Parker lived in a house with a huge … [Read more...]
Saying Goodbye to a Good Friend
Ever since my mom Wendi started her blog, she has given me a chance to write posts every so often. While I typically love to do it, I must admit I wasn't too excited this time. The reason is 'cause I am writing about one of my dearest friends who left me this week to go to the rainbow bridge. My grandparents' dog Corky left us late on Tuesday night. Corky was a Beagle Labrador mix. He was about 12 years old. I met him when he was 9, but my parents are the ones responsible for him being … [Read more...]
