Since my mom, Wendi, has been laid up for a a couple of weeks, I decided to write about my trip to the Country Corner Animal Clinic. Thanks to their willingness to accommodate my freaked-out mom, I got the treatment I needed to feel better. It all started earlier this week. I was really tired and my tummy felt yucky. When Mom and I went out for a walk, I thought eating grass would help. It didn't. All I wanted to do was lay around. Mom noticed on Tuesday, October 6, that I wasn't … [Read more...]
How to Paint a Picture of Your Pet in Two Easy Steps
Owney, my dog, is very photogenic. Bobby proves that in all the pictures he has taken of him since August 2013. But on Tuesday, September 23, I had the opportunity to take one of those photos and paint a picture of Owney. Randi, my sister, told me about the “Paint Your Pet” event being held at the Corkscrew Saloon in Medina. She and her husband, Shaun, had gone to a similar event awhile ago. They had painted a scene that was predetermined. Randi had such a good time doing it, she … [Read more...]
Portage Lakes State Park–A Great Way to End the Weekend
Bobby and I had no set plans for Labor Day Weekend. In fact, he made me promise to not plan anything on Saturday. Sunday was spent with our nephews, who were visiting in Lodi. We had a great time and that will be shared in another blog…stay tuned! By Monday, Bobby was open to the idea of doing something, … [Read more...]
Owney’s Encounter with Nature — the Stinky Kind
Hello! I'm Owney. I'm the cute black-and-white dog my Dad, Bobby, is always taking pictures of. My Mom, Wendi, is under the weather, so she said I could write her blog post today. I know my mom has been telling people about adventures she has had in recent weeks. I want to share one of my own. It happened right here near our home. Mom and I were out for our morning walk. (You know I have to keep the old girl moving or else she'd be a class A couch potato.) It was right about dawn on … [Read more...]
Owney Finds His Forever Home
Owney has been a part of our family for two years. We adopted him August 17, 2013. Below is an article I wrote for the Wayne County Humane Society Newsletter. Our dog of 14 years, Madison, passed away on March 5, 2013. She had been such an integral part of our lives, it was hard to be without her. While I was content to spend the time with our 5 cats, Bobby missed having a dog. He started dropping hints in the summer that he wouldn’t mind having another dog. I was resistant at first to … [Read more...]
