Amish Country is one of the favorite destinations that my husband, Bobby, and I always enjoy visiting. If we are free on a Saturday, we might spontaneously decide we want to go explore Holmes County and the shops that are there. When we first moved into the area, we made a trip to Holmes County and ended up in Mount Hope. That was our first time there, and I suggested that we go to Mrs. Yoder's for lunch. Bobby had said it looked "too touristy." So we didn't stop. When Bobby went back to … [Read more...]
Spoon Market & Deli: Modern Eats Dished up in a Rustic Setting
Spoon Market & Deli always brings out a different side in me, one my wife, Wendi, the founder of this blog, and other family members and friends don't get to see often. I am a picky eater. I like what I like. I don't stray too far. I am not one to try new things. I am not adventurous when it comes to food, except, when I go to Spoon Market & Deli. Don't ask me why, but I am willing to explore ... even if just a little bit. Such was the case with our visit on Friday. When it comes … [Read more...]
Texas Roadhouse: A Family Favorite for Decades
While I can’t remember the exact date, I remember the first time I ever went to a Texas Roadhouse. I was going to college in Cincinnati and staying over the summer to work on campus. Goo-Goo Car Wash: Will There Be Cleaner Days?
Being a dog who likes to go for car rides, I never really put up much of a fuss when my mom, Wendi, gets my leash. In fact I get ants in my pants and can hardly stand still as she puts it on me. Depending on which leash she takes, I can tell if we are going for a walk, ride or doggie daycare. Thursday night she grabbed the car ride leash and I was like "bring it on!" My dad, Bobby, came with us. Mom said we had some errands to run, but the first thing was to get her car washed. Now my mom is … [Read more...]
This Wooster Tourney is a Community Event, and There is No Debate
Bill Franck walked the halls of Wooster High School with clipboard in hand, stopping to ask students how they did. With eyes always scanning, he was trying to see which of the students were his and what rooms needed to be closed. The high school was packed Saturday with a swim meet and basketball games, but the crowds for those events paled in comparison to the the one in which Franck was involved: the Sharen B. Althoff Rotary International Speech Tournament, which attracted about 1,000 … [Read more...]
