When I first heard about Motts Oils & More in downtown Wooster, Ohio, I was intrigued. A store with specialty vinegars and oils. It sounded like a place that Bobby would like to go. He came home from covering the Small Business Saturday event in November saying he had visited the store. (He covered the event for a story in The Daily Record.) He said that you could taste all kinds of vinegars and oils. That sounded a little strange. Not sure how one goes about "tasting" oils or vinegars. I … [Read more...]
Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream Better Than Graeter’s?
I would not call myself an ice cream snob. I have had (and enjoyed) all kinds of ice cream from the very costly to the least expensive. Anyone else remember when you could get a gallon of ice cream in a box? But I do have my favorite ice cream. Graeter's chocolate chocolate chip ice cream is simply the best. Amish Country Christmas Cookie Tour of Inns Slideshow

All of the hotels and inns were beautiful, just the kinds of places for a nice get-a-way. The event continues Sunday, though tickets are no longer being sold. Here is a quick view of what we saw today. I will be writing more about the event, so check back often. … [Read more...]
David Greer sings “Mary Did You Know?”
The Koinonia Sunday School Class at Parkview Christian Church had its annual Christmas dinner Friday night, and David Greer of Firmly Committed Ministries gave his testimony and sang for us. Greer talked about growing up in Detroit, getting into trouble and being sent to juvenile detention and then later prison. He now ministers to those in prison through his Firmly Committed Ministries. He is also a gifted singer. You can hear him singing "Mary Did You Know" in the video … [Read more...]
