My favorite magician of all times, is my husband, Bobby Warren. He thankfully doesn't make this his full time job. (Have you any idea how much traveling full time magicians do?) However, because of his continual practice and training of the art, I have had the opportunity to see many magicians perform. Most recently I was able to see Scott Humston perform. This was on Sunday, March 13, 2016. He was performing at the Church of the Nazarene, in Wooster, OH. Bobby and Scott met at a … [Read more...]
Guess Who is On Call 24/7? My Husband, the Reporter
I have watched plenty of doctor and cop shows on TV in my life. (I'm a couch potato at heart.) I have learned through the years that people in those professions are basically on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What I never knew was that this is the same mentality that a newsman has. Or maybe more to the point, my newsman, otherwise known as my husband, Bobby, has. He ended up at a meth lab bust Friday night. I can't tell you how many times we have had to postpone our plans because … [Read more...]
Surplus Stories from the Amish Heartland
It's been a week or so since my husband, Bobby, and I took our anniversary trip to the Amish heartland. But we still enjoy talking about all we did. Bobby and I love to get away. It is nice to just be together and experience new things. While the primary focus of the trip was to experience Berlin, we didn't start our trip out there. These Burgers are Hot, No, Blazin’
Wendi and I were headed to Berlin, Ohio, in order to check into the Berlin Grande Hotel to enjoy some time away and celebrate 21 years of marriage. I had an idea: Find a nice burger place and surprise her for lunch. Wendi loves burgers; the messier the better. I settled on Blazin' Burgers in Strasburg. The intent was to go there on Friday, we ended up there on Saturday afternoon. After a great stay at the Berlin Grande Hotel and some time in downtown Berlin, we stopped at Walnut Creek … [Read more...]
East Meets (Mid)West: A Dinner for the Ages
On Friday, March 4, 2016, Wendi and I will be celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary. We have plans for the day: Head out to the Amish Heartland and enjoy a stay at the Berlin Grande Hotel. But, I was feeling good and wanted to cook Wendi a special dinner before our special day. I stopped at Buehler's on the way home thinking I would get some Certified Angus Beef top sirloin to cook and potatoes to bake. I picked up both of those items, but then I saw egg roll wrappers marked down. Then it hit … [Read more...]
