I have had a very blessed life. I know I am spoiled. God has seen fit to give me a great husband to share this life with. (In fact, Bobby and I are celebrating the 22nd anniversary of our first date this weekend.) I sometimes wonder how I will handle things when the "for worse" part of our vows happen. I am not foolish enough to think they never will. We are aging and if nothing else happens we are all still destined to die. You might be wondering where this is going. Well, Parkview … [Read more...]
Stumbling Upon the Stone (Laboratory) on Lake Erie
When my wife, Wendi, founded this blog, the idea was to write about places we visited, restaurants where we ate and fun things we did. As we traveled throughout Ohio, and even the United States, one of the things we discovered is that we can never really leave Wayne County behind. Wayne County is the home of the J.M. Smucker Co., Smith Foods/Smith Dairy, the Certified Angus Beef brand and now Daisy Brand and GOJO hand cleaners. Another major player in Wooster/Wayne County is The Ohio State … [Read more...]
Did You Ever Wonder the Origin of Our Dog’s Name?
When my parents, Bobby and Wendi, took me to Put-In-Bay last weekend, we met a lot of nice people. Most of the time it was while we were waiting in line for the ferry -- both to and from the island. I guess sometimes people just need to make small talk to take up time. Because I am cute, much of the talk centered around me. (I mean honestly, you've seen my pictures, right?) Most of the time people ask how old I am and what what my breed is. I look much younger than I am, as I am … [Read more...]
Lunch at Skyline Chili Takes Me Back to my Cincinnati Days
Since I started my blog, I try to get to new places and go to different restaurants. However, sometimes I just want to get something familiar and dear to me. That's exactly how I ended up at Skyline Chili on Friday, October 14, 2016. I was at a training being held at the Holiday Inn in Mayfield Village. It was a two part training, but lunch was "on our own." I was not familiar with the area, so I turned on my trusty cell to see what Google maps could tell me. There were places closer to … [Read more...]
Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon: Wooster/Put-in-Bay Edition
Wendi, my wife and the founder of this blog, and I attended our first blogging conference this summer: Bloggy Conference 2016, which was held at Cedar Point. It was there we met Katrina Reed, from Miller Boat Lines, who attended the conference to build relationships with bloggers. From the meeting, we were given two tickets for ferry rides from Miller Boat Line and a golf cart from E's Golf Carts. There was a twist: Katrina wanted our dog, Owney, to "write" the blog. He was more than happy to … [Read more...]
