My husband, Bobby, and I have been married for 25 years! I know, it's hard to believe that it could be that long since we look so young, but it has. I had thought that on our anniversary, we would be able to spend the day together... alone...away from the house and computers. However, due to circumstances, we couldn't take the day off. Instead we decided that we would celebrate by enjoying a night out on the town. My initial thought was that we would go to CW Burgerstein, in the basement of … [Read more...]
Fog Can’t Stop The Music on the Steamboat Natchez
When my husband, Bobby, and I were going to New Orleans, I knew that we had to hear live music. I mean seriously, New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz music and Louis Armstrong. The only question was where we would listen to it. I don't think Bobby would have minded if we ended up in some club on Bourbon Street, but that really isn't my type of thing. Instead I talked him into going on a riverboat cruise that also had a live band. Well, actually, it was Bob Adamov who told Bobby we needed to go … [Read more...]
The French Quarter on a Saturday Night Minus Bourbon Street
We are beginning of our fourth day in New Orleans. Much of my husband, Bobby's, time has been working at the CAMEX convention, which is why we are here in the first place. The Napoleon House is in the French Quarter. Let me step back here for a minute. It is February in New Orleans. Based on what one of our drivers for … [Read more...]
Kozmo’s Grille: In My Mind I’m Already There
Before I moved to Wooster I never gave much thought to Massillon, Ohio. But over the years it has started to become a destination spot for me. I've enjoyed movies at the Regal Theater and at the Lion's Lincoln Theater. You can read about our time watching White Christmas or Prince Bride at the Lion's theater in earlier posts. We've also enjoyed eating at Bella Sera a fantastic Italian restaurant in the nook of a shopping center. But I have found another reason to make a trip to Massillon for a … [Read more...]
Arthur Treacher’s Still Reeling Fish Lovers In
When I was a kid, I liked to go to Medina to eat out. Being from the Village of Lodi, restaurant options were slim in the 70's and 80's. You basically had to travel 20 minutes. Sometimes I was able to talk my parents into going to Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. There I could get my own boat of fish filets with "chips." To a girl like me who appreciates thicker fries they were way better than the french fries at McDonald's or Burger Chef. Plus I could get all the tartar sauce I wanted to dip … [Read more...]
