When I was growing up I remember watching a few episodes of the Andy Griffith Show during the summer. It was on at Noon, so while I was eating lunch I watched the show. It has been years since I had seen an episode. That is until recently. My husband, Bobby, and I have a access to Amazon Prime. Disney Plus and Netflix, so we have gotten in the habit of binge watching TV series. Recently we've watched Counterparts and Jack Ryan on Amazon, The Mandalorian on Disney Plus and Longmire on Netflix. … [Read more...]
World War II Museum Makes You Appreciate Those Who Served

We talked to Al, the guy behind the counter, about things we should do while in town. He told us about tours we could take and then he told us about the National World War II Museum. What I did not know was he would ask me to do a guest blog post for his better half’s popular blog based upon their visit to the Ernest Hemingway exhibit at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. He was aware I was a fan, but prodded and challenged me to explain… why? Initially, my mind swirled. I knew I wanted to write the definitive Hemingway piece. It had … [Read more...]
Spending Part of the Day at the ‘Night of the Museum’
If this blog is about anything, it is about fun trips, tasty eats and good movies. My husband Bobby and I have started to look for ways we can visit movie locations, and the latest one is "Night of the Museum." The movie, starring Ben Stiller and some museum exhibits, was filmed, in part, in the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan, across the street from Central Park and down the street from the building featured in "Ghostbusters." What I really liked about this movie is that … [Read more...]
