On Aug. 4, Wendi took me out for a dinner experience at The Melting Pot in Legacy Village. We had a wonderful time (you can read about it here). We didn't want to eat dessert there because we wanted to try a local joint. We asked friends on Facebook where we should go, and Dani Savage enthusiastically recommended East Coast Frozen Custard, as did Sandy Whittlesey. So, East Coast Frozen Custard it was. When Wendi and I got to the place, we kind of stepped to the back to check out … [Read more...]
Cowhaus Creamery — Now Downtown Wooster has Artisan Ice Cream
Bobby, my husband, and I took a trip to Oberlin this past spring to try Cowhaus Creamery. (You can read about that trip here.)We did so because we had heard the owners, Joe Bomback and Debby Krejsa, were opening a location in downtown Wooster, Ohio. Unfortunately, they didn't open as quickly as anyone hoped -- them or us. But don't worry, they are open now! Bobby and I had the chance to try them out in their opening day, Friday, September 30th. Downtown Wooster Transforming into Foodie Destination
Wendi and I had a chance to visit two new downtown Wooster eateries on Friday: One an Asian-fusion restaurant, and the other an artisan ice cream and sorbet company. The restaurant, an anchor store in the Merchant Block development, is beautiful inside, and the dishes were beautiful and delicious. The artisan ice cream shop? None other than Cowhaus Creamery, which … [Read more...]
Experiencing Serendipity in New York City
In the movie Serendipity, Sara, the female lead said she liked the word Serendipity because it means "fortunate accident." Dictionary.com gives one definition for the word as an "aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident." I think I like the dictionary's definition better, because I almost think that is how things happen for Bobby, my husband, and me. We often find things by accident. Well I guess I shouldn't say that our trip to New York City was an accident, because we … [Read more...]
Subzero Ice Cream: It’s Magic!
I'm not that complicated of a girl. I like good ice cream. I like trying new things. I like adventures. I love spending time with my husband, Bobby. So when you wrap all that up into a date, you're talking about a real winner. That is what happened on July 3, 2016, when we took an impromptu trip to Subzero Ice Cream & Yogurt shop in Wadsworth, Ohio. Alright, I have to be honest (I am my mother's daughter) I have experienced something like Subzero Ice Cream before. It was on a trip to … [Read more...]
