My husband, Bobby and I have driven by Fiore's in Wooster for years on our way to RKO. We've even gone by when they have had bands playing on the patio, but we've never stopped. That is until Friday, July 28, when a Pat Benatar tribute band was playing. The name of the band is Invincible: A Tribute to Pat Benatar and the '80s. Bobby loves to listen to live music. I love '80s music. The weather was great, even a little cool for a July evening. The band was awesome. Bobby had such a good time … [Read more...]
‘Week of Wendi’ Wraps Up… Almost
I have been celebrating my birthday for a week for more than half my life. (Wow! Does that make me feel old.) Each year it is fun to try to figure out ways to make it different or memorable. This year was no different. Thanks to my wonderful husband, Bobby, who is so kind and generous, I might have gotten really spoiled ... again. Here are the things that I have done to celebrate this year. C.W. Burgerstein Wings -- I don't really need an excuse to go to C.W.'s for wings, but my … [Read more...]
Festivities for Friends’ Furry Feline’s First Birthday
My husband, Bobby, and I do a lot of different things on our time off from work. I hope this blog is evidence of this fact. While some people might think that silly, we are pet people. Plus I am a grade a cat person, so if a feline is the guest of honor for a shindig … [Read more...]
Staycation: Grillin’ and Chillin’ at Casa Kendle in Wooster
My vacation officially started Monday. I had no big plans for the week, just go through all of my magic that resides in storage cubes, draws, shelves, boxes, cases and whatnot. However, a text from friend and co-worker Jeanine got my mind thinking. We generally trade off getting Dunkin' Donuts for each other. She sent me a text informing me she almost got me an iced coffee, but remembered I had vacation. We exchanged some texts, but it wasn't until later I saw her last one. Then it dawned on me, … [Read more...]
Things to do When Traveling Across the Pond
One of the things that has become painfully obvious to me since beginning this blog is that I cannot go everywhere I want to go. I am limited by time and resources. Thankfully, though, I have friends who also have the travel bug. I figure the next best thing to being there is talking to someone who has been. If I get a chance to see their pictures, that is all the better. My friend, Lois Callahan, and I sat down a few days ago to see pictures of her trip to Ireland and England she took … [Read more...]
