I'm not a big deli person. I like sandwiches just fine, but I'm talking roast beef or turkey or ham. I don't need pastrami or corn beef or anything exotic. So I was not overly enthusiastic when my husband, Bobby, suggested we try Mr. Zub's Deli and Bar. We were in Akron to attend the inauguration of Frank LaRose as Secretary of State on a recent snowy Saturday. I guess I'm still a little leery of delis after my time at Carnegie Deli in New York City. Let's just say I was not very impressed. … [Read more...]
Some Enchanted Evening at Landoll’s Mohican Castle
There is just something romantic about a castle. I thrill at the thought of visiting one in Europe some day. But I found that I don't need to go so far to be swept away. I discovered this during a recent visit to Landoll's Mohican Castle. The Castle is celebrating it's Kingdom of Lights this holiday season (November 17, 2018-January 6, 2019). Bobby rarely turns down the opportunity to perform magic, so we decided to take a long weekend and visit the area of Columbus, … [Read more...]
Mama Santa’s a nice option in Cleveland’s Little Italy
Wendi and I recently joined Jon and Linda Hall (of Walking Ohio with Jon and Linda Hall fame) on a trip to Cleveland where we spent the day at the Cleveland Museum of Art and part of the night in Little Italy, where we ate dinner at Mama Santa's Restaurant and Pizzeria. We settled on the restaurant thanks to a Facebook group to which I belong. The group caters to foodies in Northeast Ohio. I was looking for a nice, traditional Neapolitan pizza. (Truth be told, I am always looking for a … [Read more...]

Due to the fact that I had transferred to Human Resources Department at The Village Network, I had the privilege of sharing the gift from one of our vendors. That gift was a box of Sweet Moses chocolates. The candy was amazing, but because I had never heard of the brand before, I had to investigate. Turns out that the chocolates come from Sweet Moses Soda Fountain and Treat Shop! I was super excited to find this out. Ever since we went to … [Read more...]
