When my husband, Bobby, and I took our trip to Pennsylvania, we had in mind some things to do. While I am usually the trip planner, this time Bobby did the planning. But even still, we always seem to do or see additional things on our way to the planned visits. Things that maybe catch our eye or something that someone we meet recommends to us to check out. The trip to Pennsylvania was no different. While we were waiting for our tour guide, Mark Brugh, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, we walked … [Read more...]
New Broil King Unit Lets Me Grill With the Best of Them
Wendi and I didn't grill out at our home last summer because our barbecue grill rusted out, and we never replaced it. It was somewhat aggravating because we only had the old unit for what seemed like a couple years. It was the most expensive grill we had ever purchased; it had a stainless steel top, and I thought that was a good thing. The problem was only the cover was stainless steel, and it held up well. The rest of the unit: The burners, the grates and everything just kept rusting and … [Read more...]
Festivities for Friends’ Furry Feline’s First Birthday
My husband, Bobby, and I do a lot of different things on our time off from work. I hope this blog is evidence of this fact. One thing we've never done until this weekend, was attend a birthday party for a cat. Our friends, Jessica and Thomas, invited us to a first birthday party for their yellow and white tabby cat, Benjamin, otherwise known as Benny. Bobby Follows Father’s Roots to British Cafe & Pub

There was a Richard Warren who came over with the Pilgrims to Plymouth, Mass., on the Mayflower. When I visited Plymouth Plantation as an elementary student, I was surprised to learn the Warrens were involved in cooking for the pilgrims. While I have no clue whether my family is related to the Richard Warren … [Read more...]
One Busy Friday We Spent in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia
What began with one planned event, a 90 minute tour, turned into a day long adventure. My husband, Bobby, and I took a long weekend to visit my Aunt Kim and Uncle Jay in Pennsylvania near the Maryland State border. It was one of our favorite ways to go -- impromptu -- no set plans. Well, that isn't exactly true. Bobby did schedule us for a tour in Sharpsburg, Maryland, but that was it. Except that wasn't it at all. Here is a brief overview of our day. We will be writing more about each … [Read more...]
