Between the Clap Out from fifth grade for my great nephew, DeAveon and the VIP Charity Event at Cedar Point Shores Water Park, my husband, Bobby, and I took a detour into Norwalk. We wanted to eat at the historic, Berry's Restaurant. Because I was driving, Bobby was doing the searching for places to eat on our way to Cedar Point. We hadn't had lunch before DeAveon's Clap Out and we were hungry. We always like to try new places and Berry's sounded especially good, so we didn't mind a minor shift … [Read more...]
Holcomb’s Popcorn, Nuts & Ice Cream Now in Wooster
On the Saturday of my birthday week, my husband, Bobby, introduced me to a new ice cream place in Wooster. This was not an official birthday celebration event, as both he and I were done celebrating. He was done on Thursday night; I was done on Saturday morning. However, whenever ice cream is involved, I really don't need a reason to get it. I think ice cream is one of the main food groups, at least it is in my house and chocolate is another! Holcomb's Classics Gourmet Popcorn and Nuts, … [Read more...]
‘Week of Wendi’ Wraps Up… Almost
I have been celebrating my birthday for a week for more than half my life. (Wow! Does that make me feel old.) Each year it is fun to try to figure out ways to make it different or memorable. Spend a Few Minutes With Frank (Sinatra Impersonator)
I celebrate my birthday for a week, and while there have been a couple events already, Friday was the big kick off to my annual birthday week. Joined by my husband, Bobby, and my parents, Bud and Dolores Breese, we went to the Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland to watch Michael Sonata, a Frank Sinatra impersonator. Michael and his band were terrific. It is late on Friday; we just got home, and I wanted to give you a taste of a wonderful concert. Check out the video below of "New York, New York," … [Read more...]
A Visit to Zoe’s Chocolate Company Brings Me Joy
It's no secret I'm a chocoholic. I really can't remember a time when chocolate wasn't my go-to dessert. It used to make my dad, Bud, so mad. I remember one time being at an ice cream stand and him asking me what I wanted. I said, "Do they have chocolate?" He said, "There's more flavors than just chocolate, Wendi!" While that may be true, in my head I was thinking, "Why?" So when we were in Pennsylvania and my Aunt Kim said that there was an artisan chocolatier in the nearby town of Waynesboro, I … [Read more...]
