You know it is going to be a good day when you get a call from your dad letting you know that there is a special showing of the greatest Star Trek movie of all time. Or maybe that's just me. Regardless, when I talked to my dad, Bud, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 about the Wrath of Khan playing at Wooster's Cinemark Movies 10, it was a no brainer that I would be there. I didn't ask any questions, other than what time it was showing. Turns out the reason for it was in celebration of its 35th … [Read more...]
Owney: How I Celebrated Birthday No. 7 This Year
The other day was my 7th birthday. I only know this because my mom, Wendi (the creator of this blog) told me. I'm like my dad, Bobby. I don't keep track of such things because Mom is always around to tell us how old we are. Sometimes she has to count down from the year we came to the house. (She always does this with Gracie and Buddy, two of my feline siblings. I think it is because they are so old -- 17 years old this year.) So, anyhow, Mom tells me it is my birthday but then I hear her tell … [Read more...]
What Can You Say, with Lego Bricks, Everything is Awesome!
Little did I know that July 2016 would have the same theme as the Lego Movie--or at least the same theme song "Everything is Awesome." It is this catchy, can't-get-out-of-your-head tune that is forever repeating. Because of my great nephews, DeAveon and Noah, I know that song quite well. Or maybe I should say is is because of my husband, Bobby, who constantly sings the song to DeAveon and Noah whenever he sees them. Either way, it has been playing in my head most of July. First because July was … [Read more...]
Lehman’s: Everything Including the Kitchen Sink
When my husband, Bobby, and I participated in the inaugural Cupcake Tour earlier this year, we had the opportunity to visit five different Wayne County businesses. The tour took us to P. Graham Dunn, Smuckers Company Store and Cafe, Shisler's Cheese House, Eastwood Furniture and Lehman's. Each site had something unique to offer - and I am not talking about the different kinds of cupcakes. Whether it was jams and jellies, pictures and plaques or cheese and crackers, there was something unique to … [Read more...]
Cleveland Half Marathon? Challenge Accepted!
My sister, Randi, and her husband, Shaun, are people that once they commit to something, they are committed. That is something I admire about them. However, when they said they were going to tackle a half marathon, I thought they were crazy. You see, if you are new to my blog, I am on the opposite of athletic. In fact, if you see me running, you better run, too, because something is chasing me. (I stole that from Facebook.) But Randi and Shaun accepted the challenge to run the Rite Aid … [Read more...]
