I have been going to Cedar Point for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, my dad's company, Smucker's, would have their annual picnic there every three years. (They rotated between Cedar Point, Sea World and Clay's Park Resort.) I grew up riding the Blue Streak, Cedar Downs, the Mine Ride and all the others. We might only go once a year -- or maybe once every three years, but Cedar Point was the highlight of my summers. As an adult, I have't gone quite as often, until recently. … [Read more...]
Cleveland Museum of Art: Culture Well Within Our Reach
When my husband, Bobby, and I planned to do a day trip with his former co-worker, Linda Hall and her husband, Jon, we hadn't set any specific plans in place. (Jon and Linda are also the creators of Walking Ohio with Jon and Linda Hall.) The week before our scheduled outing, Linda contacted us with the suggestion of going to the Cleveland Museum of Art and a meal at nearby Little Italy. I couldn't remember if I had ever been to the museum and honestly, it never really was on my radar as a place … [Read more...]
Sweet Moses in Cleveland is, Well, Sweet
I heard of Sweet Moses around Christmas 2017. Due to the fact that I had transferred to Human Resources Department at The Village Network, I had the privilege of sharing the gift from one of our vendors. That is one of my favorite things to do. On the other hand, though, when the weather is nice, my mom, Wendi, gets it in her head that we (Dad, me and her) need to get out and enjoy the nice day. That is all fine and good, because I agree with her -- until she wears me out! Saturday, April 21 is … [Read more...]
Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Brings Light to a Dreary Winter Day
It has been a long dreary winter, at least it has seemed that way for me. Because of this, my husband, Bobby, and I have not gotten out much. In turn, that has meant that Wendi's Weekend Trips and Whatnot has been a little light on new content. So, when we decided to get out last Saturday, March 17, and go somewhere, I was pretty excited. Our big "outing" was going to be to Mansfield to shop at GFS (Gordon Food Supply), but still we were getting out. I was especially excited that we were going … [Read more...]
