I'm what you would call a smart dog. I can tell when my parents (Bobby and Wendi) are getting ready for work and when they are getting ready to go somewhere for fun. On work days, I just let them leave without so much as a wag of my tail. A lot of times my mom leaves while I'm still napping on bed with Dad in the mornings. On other days, when they are getting ready to do something fun, I can tell. Like this past Saturday, January 28, 2017, when they were contemplating doing something away from … [Read more...]
Can Someone Please Explain Frozen Custard to Me?
On Aug. 4, Wendi took me out for a dinner experience at The Melting Pot in Legacy Village. We had a wonderful time (you can read about it here). We didn't want to eat dessert there because we wanted to try a local joint. We asked friends on Facebook where we should go, and Dani Savage enthusiastically recommended East Coast Frozen Custard, as did Sandy Whittlesey. So, East Coast Frozen Custard it was. When Wendi and I got to the place, we kind of stepped to the back to check out … [Read more...]
Cleveland Half Marathon? Challenge Accepted!
My sister, Randi, and her husband, Shaun, are people that once they commit to something, they are committed. That is something I admire about them. However, when they said they were going to tackle a half marathon, I thought they were crazy. You see, if you are new to my blog, I am on the opposite of athletic. Tasty and Toasty at the Courtyard Cafe in Brecksville
Wendi decided it would be good to head up to Brandywine Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. While we were in the area, we also wanted to find a nice little restaurant we could not frequent in Wooster. The Courtyard Cafe in nearby Brecksville received a lot of positive reviews on Yelp, so we entered the address into the GPS. We made our day trip on the first good day of spring, so Wendi wanted to eat our lunch in the courtyard. I figured since we were we were at the Courtyard Cafe, … [Read more...]
Falling for Brandywine Falls
Since I saw a Facebook post about the best waterfalls in Ohio, I have been looking forward to nice weather so I could start visiting them. Finally, Saturday, April 16, 2016, I got the opportunity to at least see one. We visited Brandywine Falls at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Sagamore Hills Township. On our drive there, Bobby read to me the blog Linda Hall wrote of her and her husband's hike to the falls. Her blog talked of taking a lengthy hike in which she eventually made it … [Read more...]
