My husband, Bobby, has been known to spoil me a time or two, especially on my birthday week. This year was no exception. We did a lot of great things, not the least of which, was enjoy Sunday Brunch at the 100th Bomb Group near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. This turned out to be a delightful surprise, for both of us. After church on June 4, Bobby said he wanted us to go away for the day. His original plan was to take me to a hamburger place in Delaware, Ohio. When he was … [Read more...]
Wendi’s Blog: A Summer Preview
When I was growing up in Revere, Mass., I loved watching on a Friday night the previews of the new Saturday morning cartoons coming out in the summer. Michael Sonata: You’ll Swear He is Ol’ Blue Eyes Himself
When I happened upon the Boomer magazine in the entryway of Akron General Hospital in May, I had no idea what I stumbled upon. The magazine is geared to the Boomers in North East Ohio. It also led me to discover a place called The Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland, … [Read more...]
Spend a Few Minutes With Frank (Sinatra Impersonator)
I celebrate my birthday for a week, and while there have been a couple events already, Friday was the big kick off to my annual birthday week. Michael and his band were terrific. It is late on Friday; we just got home, and I wanted to give you a taste of a wonderful concert. Check out the video below of "New York, New York," … [Read more...]
Simon’s: Real New York Pastrami in the Buckeye State
This past Monday, February 6, I asked my husband, Bobby, for a favor. I had to go to downtown Cleveland to drop off a document for my company, so I asked him to drive me. I really dislike driving to Cleveland. Even though it is closer than Columbus, I would rather drive there than go north to Cleveland. Because Bobby is fully awesome, he only hesitated for a moment. He agreed to take me, if I would do the driving back to Wooster so he could work. I agreed. Whatever it took so I didn't have to … [Read more...]
