When my husband, Bobby, and I planned to do a day trip with his former co-worker, Linda Hall and her husband, Jon, we hadn't set any specific plans in place. (Jon and Linda are also the creators of Walking Ohio with Jon and Linda Hall.) The week before our scheduled outing, Linda contacted us with the suggestion of going to the Cleveland Museum of Art and a meal at nearby Little Italy. I couldn't remember if I had ever been to the museum and honestly, it never really was on my radar as a place … [Read more...]
Photography on the Fly on the Way to Mohican Lodge
When my husband, Bobby, and I went to the Mohican Lodge and Conference Center, in February, we got there by going the long way. We saw the Gorge and the Covered Bridge that day. (You can read about those adventures here.) When we went to the Lodge for our anniversary earlier in March, we traveled a different way. The way we took, brought us right by the Pleasant Hill Dam. If you have ever spent any time reading this blog, you should have deduced that of the two of us, Bobby is the much … [Read more...]
Downtown Wooster Has All This? (Yes, and Even More)
When my husband, Bobby, and I took our recent "stay-cation" we spent a few hours in downtown Wooster, Ohio. While I am sad to see it closed, I am glad to have had a chance to … [Read more...]
5 Things You Have to Do When in Boston
May seem silly, but the little bit of snow we got today made me think of a trip to Boston when we got snowed in. That made me think of all the trips I've made to the Boston area over the last 20 years. Since Bobby's family is from towns very near Boston, we go visit them almost every year. We usually do some sightseeing when we're there. Now, let me just say that this is definitely not going to be a comprehensive list of things to do. We've been going there all these years and we always … [Read more...]
The Game was Afoot for a Sherlock Holmes Mystery Weekend
Whodunit was the theme for the Sherlock Holmes Mystery Weekend in Cambridge, Ohio on November 6-8, 2015. Bobby and I were in the thick of the game as we participated in finding clues to solve the mystery presented before us. It was a fund raiser for the St. Benedict School put on by the Cambridge Performing Arts Centre. Friday night we were introduced to the mystery by watching the first act of the original play "Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Seven Stages" written by Anne Chlovechok. … [Read more...]
