I have heard people complain about the weather and what appears to be the delay of spring. On the one hand I agree with them. When the weather is nice, I get to go outside and lay down in the sun. That is one of my favorite things to do. On the other hand, though, when the weather is nice, my mom, Wendi, gets it in her head that we (Dad, me and her) need to get out and enjoy the nice day. That is all fine and good, because I agree with her -- until she wears me out! Saturday, April 21 is … [Read more...]
Spoon Market & Deli: Modern Eats Dished up in a Rustic Setting
Spoon Market & Deli always brings out a different side in me, one my wife, Wendi, the founder of this blog, and other family members and friends don't get to see often. I am a picky eater. I like what I like. I don't stray too far. I am not one to try new things. I am not adventurous when it comes to food, except, when I go to Spoon Market & Deli. Don't ask me why, but I am willing to explore ... even if just a little bit. Such was the case with our visit on Friday. When it comes … [Read more...]
Viva la Mexico: Vahls Mix Business, Pleasure South of the Border
My husband, Shaun, and I recently took a vacation to Cancun, Mexico. It was part working trip for him since he had some meetings to attend during our 5-day stay, but it was all relaxation for me. They have beach front property, 4 pools, a spa/gym, large buffets, 5 specialty restaurants for dinner, and much more. There are planned … [Read more...]

Time is running out, and the question on everybody's mind (OK, maybe it's just us, but play along) is will the views on Wendi's Weekend Trips & Whatnot in 2017 eclipse the numbers from 2016? Well, we are hoping the solar eclipse we observed this August in New York City will aid in those endeavors, but it will take this blog having its best month of the year. Will we succeed? Only time will tell, and you have a role. As regular readers know, Wendi, the founder of this blog, and I … [Read more...]
Entering the Tiny World of Gulliver’s Gate in Times Square
When I was a senior in high school I took a college prep English class. One of the assignments in the class was to write a term paper about any author. I chose Jonathan Swift. He wrote Gulliver's Travels. I don't know that I ever read the actual book, but I was fascinated by the idea of Lilliput, the country in Gulliver's Travels of the tiny people. I guess I'm not the only one, because while I was in New York City with my husband, Bobby, sister, Randi and brother-in-law, Shaun this summer, we … [Read more...]
