My birthday celebration this year was quite a production. It had been in the works for the better part of the year. Bobby had warned me to stay away from his emails, so I wouldn’t see what he was planning. Well the day finally arrived when all his hard work paid off and he proved once again that he is fully awesome.
He dropped me off at our good friends house, the Maxwell’s. Ron went with Bobby, while Jan was made responsible for getting me to the event on time. What was the event, you ask? Bobby sponsored a film at the Lions Lincoln Theatre in Massillon, Ohio. (This is the same theater where we got to see White Christmas this past December. You can read about that here.)
You may be curious to know what movie was being shown. It was none other than one of my favorites, The Princess Bride! I love the movie and have seen it more times than I can remember. I have watched it so many times that I can quote much of the movie. In fact, I have done just that for fun a time or two. But I have never, in all the years, seen it on the “big screen.”
But I can’t say that anymore! It was great to watch the movie on the silver screen. It was even more fun knowing that many of my friends were there to watch it with me. (Part of sponsoring the movie is the availability of tickets we shared with my friends.) Some of my friends had never seen the movie before, so I had the privilege to introduce them to it. No one said that they didn’t enjoy it.
It was also very cool that he got my name on the marquee and the tickets! Is he a great husband or what?
To top everything off, Bobby had a time of refreshments with those who attended the movie. We got to partake of delicious cupcakes made by friends, Diane Dye and Heather Allen. They made four different kinds: lemon cake with lemon filling, strawberry cake with strawberry filling, white almond wedding cake with butter cream frosting and my favorite, with a twist, yellow cake with chocolate frosting with chocolate chips in the cake.
It was so neat to be surrounded by family and friends to celebrate my birthday. It would take a miracle to top Bobby’s efforts, so I won’t even try. It is inconceivable that I could have ever found a better person to spend my life with. This is true love, you think this happens everyday?

Sorry you missed it. It was a lot of fun to see it in a movie theater. I think we made some converts, too. They’ll never hear the word “inconceivable” without thinking “you keep using that word, I do not think it means, what you think it means.”
