I love hanging out with Bobby. We have so much fun together, no matter what we are doing. But sometimes it is just fun to hang out with a group of women.
I had the chance to do just that on Saturday, September 12. One of my good friends, Jan Maxwell, invited me to join her and 6 others (Jen Hatfield, Jaime Jackson, Michelle Kendall, Lori Schultze, Amanda Stull and Deanna White) to attend a Girls Night Out event in Medina. The event featured concerts by Anita Renfroe and Natalie Grant.
We started the evening off by heading to Main Street Cafe for an early dinner. Some of the girls had visited their website before we got there, so they knew what they were going to order. I didn’t. I was torn between the fish and the bacon cheeseburger. I opted for red meat -– my go-to food. It was a good burger, but I would have liked to have their fresh cut fries with it. I could have, if I wanted to pay an extra $5. I like fresh cut fries, but not that much! In retrospect, I should have gotten the fish. It came with the fries.
After we ate, we headed to the Performing Arts Center for the concerts. We purchased VIP tickets which meant we were treated to appetizers, soda and water. Since we had just eaten, we weren’t really hungry. Although I did take the last chocolate chip cookie on the tray. Not sure if that was O.K., but I’m too much of a chocoholic to just say no.
Also, part of the VIP tickets were great seats for the concerts (we were in the third row) and admission to the Question and Answer Session with Anita and Natalie. It was really cool to see the personal side of the performers.
I’d never seen either of them before, so I didn’t know how they would be in concert. Turned out they were both awesome, which I will share about in separate blogs.
I enjoyed getting to know the women in the group. Some I have known for awhile, others I had only met before. It was a great night to spend with friends, new and old.
If you have stories to share about spending time with friends, I’d love to hear about it. Please share in the comments below!
