I have heard people complain about the weather and what appears to be the delay of spring. On the one hand I agree with them. When the weather is nice, I get to go outside and lay down in the sun. That is one of my favorite things to do. On the other hand, though, when the weather is nice, my mom, Wendi, gets it in her head that we (Dad, me and her) need to get out and enjoy the nice day. That is all fine and good, because I agree with her -- until she wears me out! Saturday, April 21 is … [Read more...]
Zaxby’s Better than Raising Cane’s?
I've taken the whole vacation thing a little too far. I mean really I'm on vacation, but I do blog about weekend trips and whatnot so you think I would be writing a little bit more. So as I sit here in one restaurant, I'd like to tell you about another restaurant. We can probably say this is our vacation of chicken fingers. I can't tell you how many years have passed since I first learned about Raising Cane's and the day I tasted my first chicken finger from the restaurant. I do know I ate my first meal at Raising Cane's on March 29, 2018. It was a great Thursday before Good Friday. Wendi and I had left our home in Wooster, and we were slowly making our way down to Florida for a wedding. Our actual dinner plans involved eating the famed Certified Angus Beef ribeye steak at the Scioto Ribber in Portsmouth, … [Read more...]
Certified Angus Beef: A Look at New Meat Lab & Dining Room
Finding myself in Wooster's north end on a Wednesday afternoon, I texted my former colleague at The Daily Record, and now marketing manager for Certified Angus Beef brand, Bryan Schaaf. In January, I launched a digital marketing business, Wooster Media Group LLC, and I thought I might pay a visit to my old friend. Certified Angus Beef is a nonprofit organization formed by the American Angus Association to promote good, quality Angus beef. The quest for producing the best tasting beef came … [Read more...]
