Hey, had a great weekend with friends. I was invited by Jan Maxwell to go with a group of friends to Anita Renfroe and Natalie Grant Concert on Saturday. Sunday, I went with Angie Smith to see Vince Gill at the Wayne County Fair. (Seen above talking to the members of Keepsake, Kim Beckler, left, LaDean Knapp and Shirley Wharton.) I'll be writing about both in the near future--make sure to watch for them. In the meantime, here is a video of Anita Renfroe doing one of my favorites. I hope you … [Read more...]
Randi’s Note to Zombies: I Will Survive! (Hopefully)
Guest Blog by Randi Breese I like zombies. Well, I love the TV series the Walking Dead and generally any end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it scenario movies or shows. I'm so unlike my sister, Wendi, who likes butterflies, love stories and happy endings. But, since she knows my enthusiasm for them, she kindly bought me two tickets to Zombie Warfare for my birthday through Groupon. I encouraged her to purchase a 4-pack so she and Bobby, her husband, could come along, but she replied that zombies … [Read more...]
Hanging Out and Being a Kid Again
I grew up with two sisters and would never consider myself very active. The most activity I did when I was a kid was either riding bikes or playing Barbies. But this past Sunday, September 6, I got to be all kinds of active while hanging out with De'Aveon and Noah in Lodi. They were up with their mom, Ashley, visiting Grandma and Grandpa. Spending a day with boys who are nine and five years old, can be quite exhausting. As soon as I arrived, Noah and I went downstairs to play a game of … [Read more...]
Owney’s Encounter with Nature — the Stinky Kind
Hello! I'm Owney. I'm the cute black-and-white dog my Dad, Bobby, is always taking pictures of. My Mom, Wendi, is under the weather, so she said I could write her blog post today. I know my mom has been telling people about adventures she has had in recent weeks. I want to share one of my own. It happened right here near our home. Mom and I were out for our morning walk. (You know I have to keep the old girl moving or else she'd be a class A couch potato.) It was right about dawn on … [Read more...]
Great Times with Great-Nephews
Bobby and I don't have children — unless you count the four-legged kind—but we do have nieces and nephews. Some of those nieces and nephews have children. That makes us great aunt and uncle to a few really great kids. This summer we have been able to enjoy time with two of our great-nephews, De'Aveon and Noah. Earlier this summer, the boys stayed with their great-grandparents in Lodi. That meant we got to see them pretty often during their 17 day visit. On one of those days, Uncle Bobby … [Read more...]
