Wendi and I really enjoyed our recent trip to Richmond, Va., where I was there to write what became a series of stories on a local physician, Tony Tizzano, and his role as a medical history adviser on the PBS/Lone Wolf Media production, "Mercy Street," a Civil War-era medical drama. While doing an initial interview for The Daily Record newspaper with Tizzano in the courtyard of the hotel where we were staying in downtown Richmond, actor Gary Cole walked past us. Cole plays James Green … [Read more...]
Owney: A Rose by Any Other Name, Still Smells Sweet (at Secrest Arboretum)
My mom, Wendi, recently celebrated her birthday week. My dad, Bobby, thought that even though she had gotten to do some really fun things (which you can read about a couple here and here) he really wanted to end the week with just the two of them. Well, you know how cute I can be, especially when I look at them with my "puppy dog" eyes. Add that to the fact that they had spent very little time at home during the week, which meant very little time with me, I convinced Dad that whatever "they" … [Read more...]
Oh Mercy: On the Set of Mercy Street
Never in my life did I ever think that I would actually get on the set of an actively filming movie or TV show. But I should know by now, to never say never being married to Bobby Warren. Great Birthday Celebration, I Mean It. Anybody Want a Peanut?

Well the day finally arrived when all his hard work paid off and he proved once again that he is fully awesome. He dropped me off at our good friends house, the Maxwell's. Ron went with Bobby, while Jan was made responsible for getting me to the event on time. What was the event, you … [Read more...]
The Pines: The Beginning of Birthday Week 2016
June 2, 2016 began the 27th year that I have been celebrating my birthday for a week. While I began this tradition long before I met and married Bobby Warren, he has been the one to sustain it for so many years. He spoils me all year round, but especially the week of my birthday. This year I wanted to make sure that one of the things I did was have lunch at The Pines Golf Club restaurant with Bobby. I discovered the restaurant in January this year as my boss took us, the Performance, … [Read more...]
