Wendi and I didn't grill out at our home last summer because our barbecue grill rusted out, and we never replaced it. It was somewhat aggravating because we only had the old unit for what seemed like a couple years. It was the most expensive grill we had ever purchased; it had a stainless steel top, and I thought that was a good thing. The problem was only the cover was stainless steel, and it held up well. The rest of the unit: The burners, the grates and everything just kept rusting and … [Read more...]
Festivities for Friends’ Furry Feline’s First Birthday
My husband, Bobby, and I do a lot of different things on our time off from work. I hope this blog is evidence of this fact. One thing we've never done until this weekend, was attend a birthday party for a cat. Our friends, Jessica and Thomas, invited us to a first birthday party for their yellow and white tabby cat, Benjamin, otherwise known as Benny. While some people might think that silly, we are pet people. Plus I am a grade a cat person, so if a feline is the guest of honor for a shindig … [Read more...]
Guide Makes Civil War Come Alive at Antietam National Battlefield
What had begun as an overcast and sometimes rainy morning, turned into a beautiful, if not slightly warm day, when my husband, Bobby, and I visited the Antietam National Battlefield outside of Sharpsburg, Maryland. Wayne County Cupcake Tour: How Sweet It Was (and Will Be Again)
EDITOR'S NOTE: One year ago, my husband, Bobby and I, were privileged to participate in the inaugural Wayne County Cupcake Tour. Oh, one thing is different this year than last, they added two more locations. So now not only do you get extra cupcakes, but get to visit two more establishments, The Pine Cone Gift Shop and Kidron Sports Center. Here's last … [Read more...]

Unfortunately, I found out that Parker lost his fight with the illness early Sunday morning. We are all sad to have to say goodbye to him, but he lived a great life. As a late comer into his life, I don't know everything about him, but here are a few things I do know: He loved to play fetch -- Parker lived in a house with a huge … [Read more...]
