The date was Saturday, February 13, 2016. The event was the Medina Ice Festival. The temperature was 16 degrees, with a real feel of 8 degrees. The weather was snowy, not blizzard conditions, but it was coming down pretty good. That is when Bobby, my husband, and I found Chill, an Artisan Ice Cream Company on the square in downtown Medina, Ohio. I do not subscribe to the idea that it can be "too cold" for ice cream. Actually I don't even believe that you can be "too full" for ice cream. … [Read more...]
Ice, Ice (and More Ice) Baby! Chillin’ Out at Medina Ice Festival
February 13, was a perfect day to view the ice sculpture displays at the 2016 Medina (Ohio) Ice Festival. It was freezing, so there was no fear of the sculptures melting. It Might Have Been Quicker Flying to Germany for German Food

Canton’s Table 6 Kitchen + Bar = 10
Wendi and I headed to the Canton area for the day. I thought Table 6 must … [Read more...]
Books, Nooks and Cooks
Sometimes my day trips turn out to be half day trips. And when I am close to home, they might even be less than that. This is the case of my most recent visit to Downtown Wooster. I recently wrote about how my husband, Bobby, and I had lunch with Marty Starkey, the executive director of the Wayne County Convention and Visitors Bureau. We met at Broken Rocks Cafe, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch. You can read more about our visit with Marty here. After we had lunch, Bobby and I … [Read more...]
