You know how someone says you have green thumb when you garden well? Well, whatever the term they use for someone who has natural artistic ability would not be an adjective to describe my painting skills. However, even being artistically challenged, Erin from True Colors Art Studio, has a knack of not only helping you paint, but also feel like you could give Monet, Rembrandt or Picasso a run for their money. I should know, because she did that for me! I had the opportunity to meet Erin … [Read more...]
Owney Discovers a New Gem: Killbuck Lakes
You know, I'm a pretty lucky dog. I get to go for walks in all kinds of places. I've walked on plenty of trails in Wayne County and even the fairground a few times. I've traveled with my family to places as far as Kentucky and Pennsylvania. Yet in recent months I have basically stayed local to Wooster. But my mom and creator of this blog, Wendi, has had in her head for the past several weeks that she needed to go by a lake or something. She had suggested to my dad, Bobby, that a trip to … [Read more...]
Living It Up in Ohio Under Stay-At-Home Orders
Every day, my wife Wendi, the founder of this blog, and I work together ... in our house. I started Wooster Media Group LLC in January 2018 and Wendi joined me full-time in mid-March 2020. Mike DeWine both told me the same thing: Stay at home. Drake didn't want me in the buildings on campus, and DeWine didn't want me outside. So, Wendi … [Read more...]
World War II Museum Makes You Appreciate Those Who Served
When my husband, Bobby, and I traveled to New Orleans we happened into a tourism information shop. I say "happened," but I usually try to get to a travel center or something that has tourism information wherever we go. We talked to Al, the guy behind the counter, about things we should do while in town. He told us about tours we could take and then he told us about the National World War II Museum. The museum was built in New Orleans because the city was instrumental in the war effort. It was … [Read more...]
Girl’s Day Out – Medina County Edition
Getting out with my sister, Randi, and my mom, Dolores, is something that I really like to do. It doesn't happen as often as I would want. Realizing that I was going to have some time off from work in early January seemed like the perfect time to get a "Girl's Day Out" on the calendar. It was a week earlier than Mom's birthday, but she was good to go with the flow. We decided to stay nearby and visit shops in Medina that are on or near the square. The day started off, however, in downtown … [Read more...]
