I grew up with two sisters and would never consider myself very active. The most activity I did when I was a kid was either riding bikes or playing Barbies. But this past Sunday, September 6, I got to be all kinds of active while hanging out with De'Aveon and Noah in Lodi. They were up with their mom, Ashley, visiting Grandma and Grandpa. Spending a day with boys who are nine and five years old, can be quite exhausting. As soon as I arrived, Noah and I went downstairs to play a game of … [Read more...]
I Scream. You Scream. We all Scream for Pav’s Creamery!
Have you ever had the experience of discovering something awesome by accident? I don’t have a lot of experiences like that, but I did just this past weekend. Pav’s Creamery is awesome! Bobby and I took Owney to Portage Lakes State Park on Labor Day and on our way there we passed Pav’s Creamery. It is on the corner of Manchester Road and State Road. Bobby said we needed to stop there on our way back. I had no intention of doing such a thing. From the quick glimpse I had, it looked like some … [Read more...]
Portage Lakes State Park–A Great Way to End the Weekend
Bobby and I had no set plans for Labor Day Weekend. Since I had been under the weather most of last week and he had been filling in for his boss while she was on vacation, we were looking forward to a restful and relaxing weekend. By Monday, Bobby was open to the idea of doing something, … [Read more...]
Revisiting a Great Buffalo, N.Y., Eatery
As the last three day weekend is upon us for the Summer of 2015, I can't help but reminisce about other three-day weekends I have had this year. One of my favorites was our trip to New York State. We went to Niagara Falls, to Chautauqua Lake, Jamestown and East Amherst (not in that order). Actually, East Amherst was the reason the trip was even planned. We saw an episode of Diner's, Drive Ins and Dives about Grover's Bar and Grill in East Amherst, New York. It was Guy Fieri visit to … [Read more...]
Great Times with Great-Nephews

That makes us great aunt and uncle to a few really great kids. This summer we have been able to enjoy time with two of our great-nephews, De'Aveon and Noah. Earlier this summer, the boys stayed with their great-grandparents in Lodi. That meant we got to see them pretty often during their 17 day visit. On one of those days, Uncle Bobby … [Read more...]
