Today's blog entry is a guest post by my wife, Wendi Warren. A few years ago, she wrote, "Once Upon a Time: A Fairy Tale," a story about a princess saved by the king with a Christian message. After being tucked away since Christmas 2008, it is in the process of being illustrated and will be available for Kindle readers in the near future. Once upon a time ... those words have always sent my mind racing to the end knowing that no matter what there would be a "Happily Ever After." I guess I was … [Read more...]
Why This Friday is So Good
Several years ago I wrote a story in the form of a fairy tale. I actually used the genre to write an allegory of our relationship with God. When I had finished the first draft, I let an acquaintance read it. She was someone I really admired and I valued her opinion. While she complimented my efforts, she challenged me on my main character's reliance on someone other than herself to rescue her from her circumstances. I did not take her advice to change my character. Maybe because we live … [Read more...]
A Perfect Date in Columbus
My husband, Bobby, and I always have a great time together. Well, I should say usually, because there are times when I am...let's say a wee bit moody. But most of the time that isn't the case. So having a perfect date is not out of the ordinary. (Hey, maybe that is why I started this blog.) Saturday, March 19, 2016, was another great time away. Abracadabra It’s Magical

However, because of his continual practice and training of the art, I have had the opportunity to see many magicians perform. Most recently I was able to see Scott Humston perform. This was on Sunday, March 13, 2016. He was performing at the Church of the Nazarene, in Wooster, OH. Bobby and Scott met at a … [Read more...]
Guess Who is On Call 24/7? My Husband, the Reporter
I have watched plenty of doctor and cop shows on TV in my life. (I'm a couch potato at heart.) I have learned through the years that people in those professions are basically on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What I never knew was that this is the same mentality that a newsman has. Or maybe more to the point, my newsman, otherwise known as my husband, Bobby, has. He ended up at a meth lab bust Friday night. I can't tell you how many times we have had to postpone our plans because … [Read more...]
