If you read my blog yesterday about my dad, Warren Breese, you know I enjoy spending time with him. (If you missed it, you can find it here.) Well, I did that on Saturday, June 18. Spent the day with both of my parents, Warren and Dolores. When my husband, Bobby, and I attended the Cupcake Tour, in April 2016, part of that tour was visiting the JM Smucker Company Store and Cafe. I decided then that for Father's Day I would get my dad a selection of Smucker products. You see when I was … [Read more...]
Happy Father’s Day, Dad! Love, Wendi
While I know tomorrow is Father's Day, I want to take time today to tell you about the man I call my dad, Warren "Bud" "Tom" Breese. Depending on who you are and when you met him, you know him by one of those names. Other than his given name, there are stories for the other ones. With my dad, there are always stories! (We used to tease him that he was like the governor from the TV Show Benson. He had a story for every situation.) He is called Bud, because when he was a kid, they called … [Read more...]
Rest, Refreshment and Revisiting the Past in Downtown Richmond

We've never stayed at this type of hotel before. It is a beautiful hotel with many wonderful amenities. The staff was great and very … [Read more...]
Be Careful What You Wish For (Because You Might End Up in Richmond, Va.)

For example, I recently was speaking with my husband, Bobby, my official videographer/photographer, about my blog. I said something along the lines of "It's called Wendi's Weekend Trips and Whatnot, but I haven't been on a weekend trip in a while." Famous last words I think. Because the very next day I am caught up in a whirlwind. You see Bobby, who just so happens to be a reporter for The Daily … [Read more...]
Oh Mercy: On the Set of Mercy Street
Never in my life did I ever think that I would actually get on the set of an actively filming movie or TV show. But I should know by now, to never say never being married to Bobby Warren. For example, he made my dream of meeting Ricardo Montalban come true - - a story for another post. This time it was being on the Mercy Street set. This amazing experience ended up taking place on my birthday. Due to the fact that a local doctor, Dr. Tony Tizzano, is a historical consultant for the PBS … [Read more...]
