The weather was so great Saturday, February 18, that I told Bobby we had to go do something. We ended up taking Owney to Malabar Farm State Park. At the end of the visit, Bobby suggested we do a podcast, so we did ... right there from Malabar Farm. You can see photos from the visit and listen to the podcast by clicking the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6j7EPG_UFU … [Read more...]
Mohican State Park Lodge — A Place to Linger
Last weekend, when my husband, Bobby, and I went away for an overnight stay in Mansfield, Ohio, we took a detour to the Mohican State Lodge and Resort. I mentioned in a previous post that I knew I liked the place as soon as I walked in, but that I would tell you why later. (You can read my previous post here.) Well, it's later. I don't know if this has ever happened to you, but sometimes when I visit a location it just makes me want to linger. That's what happened Saturday. We walked into … [Read more...]
A Weekend Away: Never How I Plan, but Always so Much Better
When my company, The Village Network, announced that it was going to hold an Employee Appreciation Dinner and Dance on Valentine's weekend (February 11, 2017) and that we could get a discount on our room at the Holiday Inn in Mansfield, Ohio, I jumped at the chance. I thought we could make a whole day of it. The plan was to do something … [Read more...]
Marriage: What Makes Life so Great

(Thanks Charlene, Tim, Sam and Rich!) During the evening I was able to meet a fellow employee's new wife and another coworker's fiancé. I enjoy meeting newlyweds and people planning on getting married, because I want them to know how awesome marriage is. I might come on a bit strong, but the conversation goes something like, … [Read more...]
Simon’s: Real New York Pastrami in the Buckeye State
This past Monday, February 6, I asked my husband, Bobby, for a favor. I had to go to downtown Cleveland to drop off a document for my company, so I asked him to drive me. I really dislike driving to Cleveland. Even though it is closer than Columbus, I would rather drive there than go north to Cleveland. Because Bobby is fully awesome, he only hesitated for a moment. He agreed to take me, if I would do the driving back to Wooster so he could work. I agreed. Whatever it took so I didn't have to … [Read more...]
