"It was a dark and stormy night." That is how the Peanuts character Snoopy would begin his stories in the comic strips I read as a kid. While it wasn't dark or even stormy when I joined Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the #330 Ambassadors of the LeBron James Family Foundation for the grand opening of Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, it was rainy, very rainy. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying being part of the exclusive event and getting a preview of the newly revamped waterpark. This … [Read more...]
LeBron Shines in Boston, His Ambassadors Shine at Cedar Point
For the second year in a row, my husband, Bobby, and I were privileged to attend a VIP Charity event at Cedar Point. Last year it was for the opening of their new roller coaster, Valravn. (If you want to read about my experience, you can click here.) This year was the grand opening of Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. Cedar Point has revamped some of their waterpark features and created some pretty exciting new ones, including Point Plummet. The Point Plummet slide drops its riders "down a … [Read more...]
A Visit to Zoe’s Chocolate Company Brings Me Joy
It's no secret I'm a chocoholic. I really can't remember a time when chocolate wasn't my go-to dessert. It used to make my dad, Bud, so mad. So when we were in Pennsylvania and my Aunt Kim said that there was an artisan chocolatier in the nearby town of Waynesboro, I … [Read more...]
Discovery of a Hidden Gem: James Buchanan’s Birthplace State Park
During our recent trip to Pennsylvania, Bobby, my husband, and I, along with my Uncle Jay and Aunt Kim, finally visited the birthplace of James Buchanan, the 15th president of the United States. I say finally because ever since we have been visiting Jay and Kim, Bobby has expressed the desire to stop and check the historical site out. I had resisted, not because I have anything against James Buchanan (I honestly didn't know much about him), but because it seemed inconvenient. His birthplace is … [Read more...]
Side Trips Provide Sites to See Within Our Sights
When my husband, Bobby, and I took our trip to Pennsylvania, we had in mind some things to do. While I am usually the trip planner, this time Bobby did the planning. But even still, we always seem to do or see additional things on our way to the planned visits. Things that maybe catch our eye or something that someone we meet recommends to us to check out. The trip to Pennsylvania was no different. While we were waiting for our tour guide, Mark Brugh, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, we walked … [Read more...]
