On the Saturday of my birthday week, my husband, Bobby, introduced me to a new ice cream place in Wooster. This was not an official birthday celebration event, as both he and I were done celebrating. He was done on Thursday night; I was done on Saturday morning. However, whenever ice cream is involved, I really don't need a reason to get it. I think ice cream is one of the main food groups, at least it is in my house and chocolate is another! Holcomb's Classics Gourmet Popcorn and Nuts, … [Read more...]
Establishing Strong Family Roots with the ‘Greats’
When my sister, Sonni's, kids were children, my husband, Bobby, and I lived over three hours away from them. That meant we didn't get many opportunities to see them, let alone be a part of their lives. (The same is true about Bobby's sister's kids, only they were in Massachusetts, much farther away.) ‘Week of Wendi’ Wraps Up… Almost
I have been celebrating my birthday for a week for more than half my life. (Wow! Does that make me feel old.) Each year it is fun to try to figure out ways to make it different or memorable. (Boomers, in case you don't know, is a defined age group of people born between 1947 and 1962 -- or so.) I am not a boomer, but my husband is! I found the magazine interesting and informative. It also led me to discover a place called The Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland, … [Read more...]
Spend a Few Minutes With Frank (Sinatra Impersonator)
I celebrate my birthday for a week, and while there have been a couple events already, Friday was the big kick off to my annual birthday week. Joined by my husband, Bobby, and my parents, Bud and Dolores Breese, we went to the Music Box Supper Club in Cleveland to watch Michael Sonata, a Frank Sinatra impersonator. Michael and his band were terrific. It is late on Friday; we just got home, and I wanted to give you a taste of a wonderful concert. Check out the video below of "New York, New York," … [Read more...]
