Being the creator of a blog that centers around weekend trips and restaurants, I haven't had a lot to write about recently. We are living in unprecedented times. We have become more aware of viruses than in previous years. We have added to our vocabulary phrases like "social distancing." We have had social functions cancelled and restaurants close except for take out. It's been very weird to say the least. However, my husband, Bobby, reminded me recently that even though things have not been … [Read more...]
Perfect for Easter 2020: A Message That’s Been On My Heart
I have been a Bible believing Christian for decades now. I don't hide my faith, but I will admit that I'm not vocal about it either. I've always been uncomfortable with "witnessing" to people about Jesus. But I have been recently convicted of my need to share the gospel -- the good news -- about Jesus, my Savior. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have always been drawn to poetry. Not deep poetry, but Hallmark greeting card poetry. So as a way to share this message that's been on my … [Read more...]
Celebrating our 25th at the Olde Jaol Steakhouse
My husband, Bobby, and I have been married for 25 years! I know, it's hard to believe that it could be that long since we look so young, but it has. Just Breathe Wellness: My Experience with Ionic Foot Detox
Recently my mom, Dolores, and sister, Randi, told me about their visit to Just Breathe Wellness in Medina for a Foot Detox Bath. I was interested. I became even more so when Randi told me how it seemed to have a positive impact on Mom's countenance that day. She had been pretty ill, but after the foot bath, she seemed to have gotten better. We had discussed going sometime together. So the first free day I had I texted Randi to see if she was available. Randi wasn't, but Mom was. We set up … [Read more...]
World War II Museum Makes You Appreciate Those Who Served
When my husband, Bobby, and I traveled to New Orleans we happened into a tourism information shop. I say "happened," but I usually try to get to a travel center or something that has tourism information wherever we go. We talked to Al, the guy behind the counter, about things we should do while in town. He told us about tours we could take and then he told us about the National World War II Museum. The museum was built in New Orleans because the city was instrumental in the war effort. It was … [Read more...]
