As long as Bobby and I have been married, we have heard the importance of making our relationship the most important human relationship we have. The only other relationship that should be held higher than each other, is the one with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To that end, we have strived to make time for one another and especially to go on dates, either on our own or with other couples. By doing so, we have gotten out of our normal, everyday life and away from things that would … [Read more...]
Texas Roadhouse: A Family Favorite for Decades
While I can’t remember the exact date, I remember the first time I ever went to a Texas Roadhouse. I was going to college in Cincinnati and staying over the summer to work on campus. I already started the tradition of celebrating my birthday for a week, so on that year I decided one of the things I would do was try Texas Roadhouse. Depending on which leash she takes, I can tell if we are going for a walk, ride or doggie daycare. Thursday night she grabbed the car ride leash and I was like "bring it on!" My dad, Bobby, came with us. Mom said we had some errands to run, but the first thing was to get her car washed. Now my mom is … [Read more...]
Fit by 50: Fact or Fiction?
Two years ago, right around my 48th birthday I thought to myself, "OK, you're going to be 50 in two years, why not make it your goal to be fit by 50." I thought taking it slow and giving myself 2 years sounded reasonable. Well... here we are and I am a scant 6 months from my birthday and "fit" isn't exactly a term I would use to describe me. Granted my husband, Bobby, and I started "running" in August, but I have not seen many changes to my physique. So what's a girl to do when faced with … [Read more...]
