My husband, Bobby, and I have been attending Parkview Christian Church for several years now. We started in 2003 when we move into the area from Hillsboro, Ohio. We started at Parkview because a friend of ours from college, Dean Hammond, was the lead minister. We had thought we would visit one time, to support Dean, and then go to a different Church in Wadsworth, Ohio. What actually happened, is that we were invited to Sunday school class, by Karl Green. From that first visit, we fell in love … [Read more...]
Girls’ Weekend Getaway at Geneva-on-the-Lake
We here at Wendi's Weekend Trips and Whatnot love to get away and visit new places. However, life can get in the way of this happening more often than we would like. Thankfully, we have friends that travel to places we might like to see. I, Wendi, had a chance to sit down recently with my good friend, Sherry Jo Whitman, to hear about her weekend getaway with her daughter, Krista, and daughter-in-law, Tonya. They traveled to Geneva-on-the-Lake in Northeast Ohio. (I should mention that we actually … [Read more...]
Ottaway’s Parkside Ice Cream Parlor — Ice Cream in the Family!
There are many fun things I get to do because I want to have things to write about on this blog. A couple of years ago, my parents visited my Aunt Pam in Florida. They … [Read more...]
Zaxby’s Better than Raising Cane’s?

So as I sit here in one restaurant, I'd like to tell you about another restaurant. We can probably say this is our vacation of chicken fingers. It started with our trip to get dinner on Thursday night in Columbus at Raising Cane's chicken finger restaurant. You can read about Bobby's take on it here. Well once … [Read more...]
Touched by Jesus: Two Perspectives

What I ended up doing was writing a few monologues for characters from the Bible. I had written one for the chief priest's servant, one for Simon of Cyrene, one for the Roman soldier, one for the woman at the well, and one for Mary Magdalene. With the help of several people from our church with sets and of course actors, we were able to have these monologues put … [Read more...]
