I had planned to go to the Wooster Chamber of Commerce After Hours event at the AAA office on Tuesday, October 20. However, after having a really late Monday night that ran into the wee hours of Tuesday morning and then not much sleep before work, I was having second thoughts.
Yet because I had RSVP’d for the event, I felt obligated to attend. (Just call me Ms.. Dependability.) I’m glad I did.
The staff of the AAA office put on a great spread of appetizers and dessert from Long Horn Steak House. I finally got to try the Chocolate Stampede. I’m usually stuffed after a meal from Long Horn, with no room for dessert.
I had the chance to connect and network with others from the business community. I met Meghan Millea, who is new to the area. She is an author/journalist. If you meet her, ask her about her project with National Geographic.
I had the chance to speak to Laurel Strasbaugh, a Travel Consultant with AAA. She definitely knows her stuff! I talked to her about a trip to Italy Bobby and I want to take in a few years. She had great ideas. Can’t wait to make that a reality.
But the icing on the cake, was the fact that I won the grand prize, a five piece American Flyer luggage set! I got the red, because I figure it will be easily identifiable. Also, because it reminded me of OSU. Finally, because I didn’t think Bobby would want to share the set with me if I had selected the purple set.
Every time I go to a Business After Hours event, I have a good time. I like seeing the different businesses in Wooster. But I’ll have to say, for me, this was the best one yet!
Thanks Lance White for the photographs!
