It was a beautiful September afternoon when my husband, Bobby, suggested we visit downtown Wooster for the 36th Annual Wooster Fest. Having spent most of the day in an office, I was ready to get out and enjoy the mild temperatures. Plus, I knew there would be plenty of food options available, which was another reason to head out for an impromptu date night. I love living in a community that has a vibrant downtown with different things to do throughout the year. Not only is it fun to … [Read more...]
Wooster, Here’s Your Pizza Shop
When my husband, Bobby, and I go out for a date night on a Wednesday, we usually end up at CW Burgerstein in the basement of TJ's Restaurant for their wing special. Bobby and I both really love their wings. Which you can read why here. They are really good. However, on a recent Wednesday night, Bobby suggested we try the "new" pizza restaurant, Your Pizza Shop. And while I was really hungry for wings, I was up for trying something new. I say "new" in quotes because there have been other … [Read more...]
CC Top: This ZZ Top Tribute Band not Under Pressure
A while ago, I heard one of my favorite Cleveland-area bands would soon be no more ... three of the four members were setting aside their '80s-themed band in favor of CC Top, a ZZ Top tribute band. My heart sank when I heard the news, because I really liked Moonman TV, and I was not a big fan of the boogie-woogie and blues rock band from Houston, Texas: ZZ Top. Oh, well. However, I was in for a pleasant surprise when I attended CC Top's show in Mansfield Saturday night with friends Kenny Hart … [Read more...]
Arthur Treacher’s Still Reeling Fish Lovers In
When I was a kid, I liked to go to Medina to eat out. Being from the Village of Lodi, restaurant options were slim in the 70's and 80's. You basically had to travel 20 minutes. Sometimes I was able to talk my parents into going to Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips. There I could get my own boat of fish filets with "chips." To a girl like me who appreciates thicker fries they were way better than the french fries at McDonald's or Burger Chef. Plus I could get all the tartar sauce I wanted to dip … [Read more...]
City Barbeque: A Great Choice for BBQ
It's no surprise that I like to try different restaurants. This is especially true when I travel. So when my sister, Randi Vahl, and I took a trip to experience the Ark Encounter, I was only interested in eating at a place I'd never been before. That's how we stumbled upon City Barbeque. I later found out that it is a chain restaurant, but I don't care. If the food is good, I'm all about it. And let me tell you, the food is real good! We were told by the cashier that they smoke their own … [Read more...]
