"It was a dark and stormy night." That is how the Peanuts character Snoopy would begin his stories in the comic strips I read as a kid. While it wasn't dark or even stormy when I joined Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the #330 Ambassadors of the LeBron James Family Foundation for the grand opening of Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, it was rainy, very rainy. However, that didn't stop me from enjoying being part of the exclusive event and getting a preview of the newly revamped waterpark. This … [Read more...]

LeBron Shines in Boston, His Ambassadors Shine at Cedar Point
For the second year in a row, my husband, Bobby, and I were privileged to attend a VIP Charity event at Cedar Point. Last year it was for the opening of their new roller coaster, Valravn. (If you want to read about my experience, you can click here.) This year was the grand opening of Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. Cedar Point has revamped some of their waterpark features and created some pretty exciting new ones, including Point Plummet. The Point Plummet slide drops its riders "down a … [Read more...]
Owney: How I Celebrated Birthday No. 7 This Year
The other day was my 7th birthday. I only know this because my mom, Wendi (the creator of this blog) told me. I'm like my dad, Bobby. I don't keep track of such things because Mom is always around to tell us how old we are. Sometimes she has to count down from the year we came to the house. Ever since my wife, Wendi, and I purchased a new Broil King grill from Home Appliance, with two Ohio locations in Lodi and Brunswick, we have been grilling out a lot more, and I have been on a grilled pizza kick, having made four grilled pizzas within the span of a week. However, I have been wanting to try Bosco's Pizza Kitchen again, and so Wendi and I ordered a pizza and wings for carryout. Longtime readers of this blog will know I like pizza, and I like Neapolitan-style pizza, the kind … [Read more...]
A Visit to Zoe’s Chocolate Company Brings Me Joy
It's no secret I'm a chocoholic. I really can't remember a time when chocolate wasn't my go-to dessert. It used to make my dad, Bud, so mad. I remember one time being at an ice cream stand and him asking me what I wanted. I said, "Do they have chocolate?" He said, "There's more flavors than just chocolate, Wendi!" While that may be true, in my head I was thinking, "Why?" So when we were in Pennsylvania and my Aunt Kim said that there was an artisan chocolatier in the nearby town of Waynesboro, I … [Read more...]
