Several years ago I wrote a story in the form of a fairy tale. I actually used the genre to write an allegory of our relationship with God. When I had finished the first draft, I let an acquaintance read it. She was someone I really admired and I valued her opinion. While she complimented my efforts, she challenged me on my main character's reliance on someone other than herself to rescue her from her circumstances. I did not take her advice to change my character. Maybe because we live … [Read more...]

A Perfect Date in Columbus
My husband, Bobby, and I always have a great time together. Well, I should say usually, because there are times when I am...let's say a wee bit moody. But most of the time that isn't the case. So having a perfect date is not out of the ordinary. (Hey, maybe that is why I started this blog.) Saturday, March 19, 2016, was another great time away. It all started when I found out that a friend of ours, Audrey Lombardo, was performing in a community theater production in Grove City, Ohio. … [Read more...]
Abracadabra It’s Magical
My favorite magician of all times, is my husband, Bobby Warren. He thankfully doesn't make this his full time job. (Have you any idea how much traveling full time magicians do?) This was on Sunday, March 13, 2016. He was performing at the Church of the Nazarene, in Wooster, OH. Bobby and Scott met at a … [Read more...]
Guess Who is On Call 24/7? My Husband, the Reporter
I have watched plenty of doctor and cop shows on TV in my life. (I'm a couch potato at heart.) I have learned through the years that people in those professions are basically on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What I never knew was that this is the same mentality that a newsman has. Or maybe more to the point, my newsman, otherwise known as my husband, Bobby, has. He ended up at a meth lab bust Friday night. I can't tell you how many times we have had to postpone our plans because … [Read more...]
Up(load) Periscope
I remember the first time I saw Periscope, a Twitter app that allows its users to stream video live, being used. It was during the Compassion Step Up walk. Parkview Christian Church's lead minister, Brian White, was using it while we were walking through each station. I was intrigued, but my first thought was, "Why doesn't Bobby, my husband, know about this." I am not tech savvy in the least. I might have a lot of tech kind of items, but it is only because Bobby has brought it home or … [Read more...]
